DEF JAM: UNDERGROUND LEGEND
My whole point of getting covers made was to get people excited for the game. A game that has huge anticipation but to also provide some context of the game. You’ll notice that there’s a “Gangsta Grillz Edition.” Rap has played a huge role in gaming, current culture, and music overall especially with it being the number one genre around the world now. While other games have Special Editions, this game deserves it’s own special edition as well. Nobody better to do that with than DJ Drama.
previous Def Jam games had some form of character on the cover, this game in particular has two main characters. It’s a way to understand that women need to be more represented in rap and gaming but also in the story mode of these games As far as rap is concerned. women are almost running rap, outside of a few male artists. There are more women/girls getting into gaming and they need to be represented and see someone they can play with as a main character. The guy with his back to everybody is the other main character (your created player). This wasn’t a choice to where I didn’t want to see women get their own character to create but more so of a licensing for clothing, shoes, and accessories issue.
